Abstract: Most constructions in geometric representation theory use the convolution product to create interesting algebras or monoidal categories. Convolution will typically create monoidal categories with a cyclic biadjoint structure, and this structure is precisely what allows one to draw morphisms in that category as isotopy classes of planar diagrams. We provide an example of this phenomenon, giving a diagrammatic presentation for the category of Soergel bimodules (joint work with M. Khovanov).
