Around 1997, Gouvea and Mazur proved the density of modular points in some spaces of 2-dimensional representations of the absolute Galois group of the rational numbers. I will discuss a generalization of this result concerning the density of automorphic points in global polarized deformation spaces in arbitrary dimension. This generalization is linked to the the geometry of deformation spaces of trianguline deformations of Galois groups of local fields.
