Job prospects

More and more areas (Engineering, Economics, Finance, Medicine etc.) are becoming permeated by mathematics and its applications. This makes for a broad spectrum of excellent jobs for mathematicians, where the knowledge and abilities acquired during the degree course can be put to practical use. Examples are

  • insurance and banking
  • education

This last is of vital importance, since well qualified mathematics teachers are essential, if the future demand for mathematicians from computing, engineering and natural sciences is to be met.
